Boston-based online game firm Hangout Industries has hired on Mike Goslin, who most recently served as VP of virtual world design and development at Disney Online.

At Hangout, he'll "lead design, development and operations of the company's online entertainment product," the company said in a statement.

Goslin led development for Disney Online virtual worlds, working on games including Pirates of the Caribbean Online and ToonTown Online. His experience ranges 12 years in online worlds and theme parks.

The exec also has experience in leading development of social networking and community applications.

Hangout is currently developing Hangout.net, a social community that integrates 3D environments with existing online networks such as Facebook, MySpace and YouTube.
